The portable hazrd-warning indicator is designed for universal use i.e. in road or water traffic and comprises a cone of transparent material, with a triangular or quadratic base printed red and white. Inside the cone is a power-source in the form of a dry battery or accumulator which supplies a flashing or blinking coloured light at the top of the cone. This light may be triggered by photo-cells, a timing device or humidity switch. Additionally or alternatively there may be an audible signal emitter. The whole unit may be collapsible for easier transportation by the external skin being folded and subsequently extended by spring action.
