Thin, ceramic corundum-base heating plates - for use in electric storage heaters

Thin, ceramic, heating plate contg. a heating element embedded in a densified, thermally hardened mixt. of corundum and a binder is improved in that the mixt. contains at least 85 wt% of corundum with addn. of 1-4 vol% of Al(H2PO4)3 and 5-15 wt% of clay as a binder. These heating plates are esp. suitable for use in electric storage heaters. They withstand temp. fluctuations up to 1000 degrees C. Corrosion of the heating element is largely suppressed. The compressive strength (at normal temp.) is about 1000 kg/cm2.
