1446221 Dicarboxylic acid derivatives CIBAGEIGY AG 20 Aug 1973 [24 Aug 1972] 39285/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein A denotes a direct bond or a methylene group which may be unsubstituted or substituted by a lower alkyl radical, one of the groups R 1 and R 2 denotes hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkanoyl, lower alkoxy, free or acylated hydroxyl or free or acylated amino group, trifluoromethyl or nitro, and the other denotes a saturated cycloaliphatic radical which may be unsubstituted or substituted by one or more of the same or different lower alkyl groups, each of X 1 and X 2 , which may be the same or different, denotes a free, esterified or amidized carboxyl group or X 1 and X 2 together with A and the quaternary ring carbon atom may represent a cyclic imide group, and n denotes an integer from 1 to 3, and salts of acids and bases of the general Formula I. The term lower indicates radicals containing up to 7 carbon atoms. The compounds may be prepared by reacting compounds of the formula with a reactive functional derivative of a compound of the formula HO-A-X 1 , and if desired converting the resulting compound of Formula I or a salt thereof into another compound of Formula I or a salt thereof. The compounds may be used in pharmaceutical compositions. |
