1450219 Delivering sheets XEROX CORP 21 Dec 1973 59537/73 Heading B8R A copy-sheet is stripped from a xerographic drum 100 by a sharp-nosed stripping device 101, and a metal plate 104 is provided and maintained at an electrical reference voltage, such as zero, in order that the sheet, which retains an electrostatic charge, should be attracted towards the plate, so that continued stripping of the sheet is ensured subsequent to stripping of the leading edge by the device 101, and so that the imaged surface of the sheet does not rub against the device 101. A further plate 108 is provided to prevent jamming if the charge on the sheet is insufficient, the sheet then falling back against the further plate. The plate 104 may be longitudinally grooved or corrugated or wholly or partly covered with an insulating layer to reduce dissipation of the charge on the sheet when the latter contacts the plate. The plate 108 is electrically insulating, or if conducting is electrically floating.
