<p>1433046 Selective printers BUNKER RAMO CORP 26 April 1973 [3 May 1972] 19928/73 Heading B6F A printer having a moving print head 20 includes means for compensating for varying thicknesses in documents to be printed, comprising a shoot 10 for receiving documents, a pair of gauge bars 14, 16 between which the print head projects, and an opposing platen 74 which can be urged towards the gauge bars 14, 16 through a resilient connection. The platen 74 is urged towards the gauge bars by cams 54 acting on plungers 60 which displace the platen 74 through springs 62. A document 12 such as a bankbook is inserted into the shoot 10 and gripped by a plunger 38 of a sloenoid 40 against a member 36, the solenoid 40 and member 36 being fixed to a belt 28 whereby the vertical position of the document 12 is adjusted by a motor 34. A detector 42 senses the insertion of the document 12.</p> |
