<p>A solid paint with a gel force of 100-200mm penetration and a dimensional stability based on ionic bonds contains (a) as polymer (1) a 25-90 wt. % soln. in a nonpolar solvent, of a hardenable resin of mol. wt. 1000-7000, with sufficient carboxylic, sulphonic or phosphonic acid gps. to give an acid number of 20-80, or (2) a stabilised, non-aq. 25-90% dispersion, in a non-polar solvent, of a polymer of mol. wt. 25,000-1,000,000 with sufficient carboxylic, sulphonic or phosphonic acid gps. to give an acid number of 25-60, or (3) a mixt. of a stabilised 25-90% dispersion, in a non-polar solvent, of a non-bonding resin of mol. wt. 25,000-1,000,000 with no functional reactive gps. and a soln. (1) with a ratio of non-bonding resin; (1) of 2-8:1 (2-4:1) (b) 100-600 moles % w.r.t. functional acid gps. of a 10-50% soln. or suspension in a polar solvent of high dielectric rigidity, of a metallic hydroxide, NH4OH or a cpd. which forms organic cations, as ionic crosslinking agent, and (c) 0-5% of a metallic drier, w.r.t. wt. of polymer. The solid paint is used as a stick or block and is applied manually without a brush or roller.</p> |
