Sliding window or door rail sealing - with batten on wing across most of gap, supporting fibrous gauze

The sealing is for a window, or door, which has wings sliding horizontally in two or more planes, each running on a track rail, where the sealing units span the gaps between the wings and their rails. The sealing units comprise a fibrous gauze protruding from wing to rail, with an elastic central partition cross arms which has its open longitudinal edge fitting against the rail. Here a horizontally aligned batten (11) is fitted, supporting the fibrous gauze (9) and sited directly above it on the wing. This extends across 1/2 to 3/4 of the width of the gap(a). The batten may be T-shaped in cross-section, with its stem anchored in a groove (12) in the wing; it may be made of plastic. A simple structure combines affective sealing with a tolerable degree of friction.
