摘要 <p>1531799 Antimony III halide solutions HOECHST AG 7 Oct 1976 [9 Oct 1975] 41720/76 Heading C1A An aqueous antimony (III) halide solution is made from an inactive antimony halide catalyst which comprises antimony (III) and antimony (V) halides and organic and mineral impurities by adding a quantity of water or aqueous HC1 to the inactive catalyst such that two liquid phases are formed, reducing antimony (V) to antimony (III) with SO 2 , sulphite, pyrrosulphite or pulverulent antimony in the aqueous phase and separating the organic phase from the aqueous phase prior to or after the reduction. The reduction is typically performed at 10-110‹ C. with 100-150% stoichiometric amount of the reducing agent. Redox catalysts (e.g. KI or KBr) may be added. The solutions may be treated with ammonia to obtain Sb 2 O 3 and the solution may be employed in the preparation of lead chromate pigments.</p>
