<p>A sports hall floor or gymnasium floor comprises an elastic layer; a load-distributing layer, of double construction at least at the butt joints and a surfacing layer. Component layer of the load-distributing layer, which extends over the entire layer, is of a plastics material having a high failure strength in relation to its modulus of elasticity, accompanied by high strain at failure and good impact strength. Pref. the load-distributing layer, in the component layer which covers the entire area of the floor, is of unplasticised PVC or of a high-molecular, unplasticised polyethylene. The two component layers may be glued together in the region of the butt joints. Floor provides the necessary resilience for gymnastic actions, jumping and so on, good reflection for ball games, and the ability to withstand other used, e.g. as a hall with seats for an audience.</p> |
