Abstract An electrical device-mounted retainer for temporary securement of an extension socket There is provided an electrical device-mounted retainer for temporary securement of an extension socket, the retainer comprising: a receptacle portion; and a securement portion for securing the receptacle portion to an electrical device in use, wherein the receptacle portion defines an upwardly operative receptacle having a substantially circular cross-section adapted for holding of at least a portion of the socket therein and having an upwardly operative lateral receptacle cutout wherein, for use, when the retainer is in upwardly operatively orientated: the extension socket may be retained by the retainer by passing an lead of the extension socket in through the cutout to position the socket above the receptacle and lowering the socket into the receptacle to as to be held thereby under gravity and wherein the receptacle substantially prevents the socket from being pulled at least laterally from the retainer by the lead; and the extension socket may be disengaged from the retainer by lifting the socket from the receptacle and passing the lead out through the cutout.
