PURPOSE:To form the non-image part where there is no deposition of toner at the end part of the copy impages by radiating flash light from a light source of fast light quantity attenuation characteristics to the photoreceptor before and behine the exposure position at the same instant of exposure of the original thereby erasing the latent image charges. CONSTITUTION:A trigger switch 27 is fixed to the copying machine body in the position where a moving mirror 16 projects the light image at the leading end of the original onto a photosensitive drum 21 and operates when the moving mirror 16 comes to the position of a trigger switch 27. When the switch 27 goes ON, a xenon discharge tube 22 emits light. The xenon discharge light is radiated onto the photosensitive drum through a lower step slit S2 to make the region B' of the photoreceptor before the slit edge part at a non-image static image potential. In this way the non-image part where there is no toner deposition is formed in the region B portion on the original platen, whereby, staining of the leading end of the paper, winding of the paper to a fixing roller, etc. may be prevented. |
