PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that there has been a need for a gas diffusion layer that is improved in adhesiveness with an electrode catalyst layer and is capable of efficiently discharging liquid water produced during power generation.SOLUTION: In a gas diffusion layer, a coating layer comprising carbon powder and a water repellent agent is provided on at least one surface of a porous carbon electrode base material, and the coating layer having linear irregularities along the longitudinal direction of a sheet is formed. It is preferable that the porous carbon electrode base material constituting the gas diffusion layer has a thickness of 50-250 μm and the coating layer formed on at least the one surface has a thickness of 5-100 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
