The connection is used on an endless conveyor belt of a ladder construction i.e. comprising transverse timber battens at regular intervals traversed by longitudinal cables (2). Co-axial incoming cable ends are cranked to pass through oblique parallel offset bores in the respective battens (1), terminating in oblique ended anchor sleeves (3) in batten pockets. The oblique sleeve ends transmit axial forces to the battens, and have a partial transverse overlap which relieves the battens of a proportion of these forces. The battens are fixed together by bolts (5) parallel to the cables and may be cased by metal sections (4) for heavy duty performance. |
