<p>PURPOSE:To produce a uniform slag layer on the surface of molten steel, by making a layer of adjusting agents for melting temperature, slag viscosity and basicity around an inorganic porous slag base material as a nucleus and coating a melting speed adjustment layer on the layer of the adjusting agents so that a prescribed spherical piece is manufactured. CONSTITUTION:An inner layer 2 and an outer layer 3 are coated on a nucleus 1 which is made of an organic porous slag base material such as perlite or obsidian. The inner layer 2 is made of a melting temperature adjustment agent such as Na2CO3, a slag viscosity adjusting agent such as NaF and a basicity adjusting agent such as DAICAL powder and fly ash. The outer layer 3 is made of a melting speed adjustment agent such as coke powder or carbon black. The resulting assembly is an almost spherial grain with a diameter of 0.5-2mm and a bulk density of 0.4 or less.</p> |
