Goods vehicle max. load indicator - uses manometer to indicate pressure from hydraulic jacks between load platform and axles

The max. load indicator comprises hydraulic jacks (1,2,3) placed between the axles (4,5,6) and load platform and powered in series by a hydraulic pipe (8) containing anti return valves (9,10,11) for each jack. The pipe is connected via a valve (12) and pump (13) to a liquid reservoir (14). A manometer (15) and calibrated valve (17) in the return pipe enables the working pressure to be set. A manometer (22) activated by contraction of a membrane (20) in a fixed reservoir (19) in the return from the jacks allows the weight of the vehicle load to be determined.
