摘要

PURPOSE:To improve contrast while making visual angle dependency small by using a 1/4 wavelength plate for one of substrates in a guest-host type liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:A nematic liquid crystal composition 8 added with dyes is disposed between a transparent substrate 1 and a reflecting plate 4 provided with a 1/4 wavelength plate 3, whereby the guest-host type liquid crystal display element of a large maximum incident angle beta is obtained.
