The cross-beam is intended for manual operation instead of a crane operated large-area suspension. Several bar grips (2) are fitted at different spacings, transverse to the parallel walls of a long U-section (1). On the underside of this U-section are at least three vacuum suction elements (3) to stabilise the glass sheet large surface. The bar grips are bent upwards in a semi-circle, and the vacuum elements (9) are arranged linearly to the verticals of the underside of the U-section.
