<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide furnace carbon black which can further lower compression set without deteriorating vulcanized rubber properties while maintaining the characteristics of thermal-type furnace black and a rubber composition obtained by compounding the same with a rubber component. <P>SOLUTION: The furnace carbon black which has an iodine adsorption (IA) of 10-35 g/kg, a dibutyl phthalate oil absorption (DBPA) of not more than 30 ml/100 g, and a toluene coloring permeability of not less than 45% satisfies that the value of an aggregate size distribution index (X) of a ratio of the weight average particle diameter (Aw) to the number average particle diameter (An) of the aggregate size obtained by the centrifugal sedimentation method is present in the range of 2.0-3.0; the ratio (Y) of the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA) to the iodine adsorption (IA) is 0.9-1.2; and the ratio (Z) of the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA) to the CTAB adsorption specific surface area (CTAB) is 0.9-1.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
