To prevent interaction between inert pressure gas, or pressurised air and halogenated hydrocarbon, the two media have to be separated. For this purpose the inert gas or pressurised air is admitted into a pressure pocket, after having passed a back pressure-controlled pressure reducing valve. The pressure pocket consists of a halogenated hydrocarbon resistant plastics material which is also impervious to osmotic pressure equalisation. The pocket is provided in the halogenated hydrocarbon container in a pressure-less condition. Instead of the pocket of plastics material a diaphragm, or a pressure loaded piston inside the cylindrical extinguishing agent container can be used. To produce the necessary pressure hydraulic pressure can be applied, which would also drive out the halogenated hydrocarbon from the container.
|
