PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC CARBONIC ACID ESTER

PURPOSE: To produce an aromatic carbonic acid ester in a high yield and efficiency by using a highly active catalyst in the production of aromatic carboxylic acid by the transesterification reaction or disproportionation reaction. CONSTITUTION: A compound produced by heating a tin compound of formula R<1> n Sn(OR<2> )4-n [R<1> and R<2> are each an alkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl; (n) is 1-3] at 180-250 deg.C is used as a catalyst for the production of an aryl alkyl carbonate and/or a diaryl carbonate by the transesterification reaction of a dialkyl carbonate with a phenol or a diaryl carbonate by the transesterification reaction of an aryl alkyl carbonate with a phenol or a diaryl carbonate by the disproportionation reaction of an aryl alkyl carbonate.
