PURPOSE:To obtain a large damping coefficient in low frequency region to prevent vibration by a method wherein the vibration damping support is automatically stuffed with pressurized air during low frequency vibration with large amplitude by making use of the vibration applied to the vibration damping support itself such as an engine mounting or the like. CONSTITUTION:When the vibration in low frequency region is applied axially to a bolt-shape fitting 1, the air is stuffed from a pump chamber 7 to a closed chamber 4 through suction valves 8 and exhaust valves 9. Under this condition, a wall 3 gets a larger damping coefficient than the damping coeggicient of the wall having in case of only rubber elastic body by the addition of damping effect due to the air stuffed in the closed chamer 4. While in high frequency region, due to the small amplitude and high speed vibration, the suction valves 8 and exhaust valves 9 vibrate themselves not to function as valve and consequently the air within the pump chamber 7 and the closed chamber 4 has equal pressure with that of the open air and a small dynamic spring constant is obtained to show the suitable performance for the engine mounting. |
