PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesive properties in the early stage and after wet-heat aging of an adhesive rubber composition. SOLUTION: A rubber component of 100 pts.wt. comprising at least 50 wt.% natural rubber and at most 50 wt.% synthetic rubber is compounded with 1-10 pts.wt. sulfur, a cobalt salt of an organic acid in an amount of 0.03-1 pt.wt. in terms of cobalt, and 0.1-6 pts.wt. compound having a di- or trisubstituted benzene ring having at least one hydroxyl group as the substituent.
