PURPOSE:To transfer, carry and to separate in the optimal condition by using a mesh screen of which one surface is insulated and the other is conductive as a transfer member supporting means and by applying to it bias voltage. CONSTITUTION:A mesh screen 35 of a transfer drum 32 is aprayed with acrylic resin to the one surface of a conductive mesh 35a of a stainless wire, keeping a transfer member 20 on its insulated surface, fitting with a transfer charged body 25 inside it and is connected to a bias source 36. With this constitution, the voltage having the same polarity as the charged body 25 is applied to the mesh 35a, a negative charge 20a is induced to the transfer material 20 to adsorb electrostatically the transfer material 20. As a corona discharge current of the charged body 25 provides a sufficient charge 25a to the transfer material 20 through the mesh a good transfer is performed and when separation, it is grounded to eliminate the electrostatic attractive force. Hereby, the transfer, carrying and separation are performed stably. |
