PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor easy in manufacture and high in strength, by forming an electrophotographic receptor containing a specified azo pigment as a charge generating substance and a specified hydrazone compound as a charge transfer substance on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains an azo pigment, as a charge generating substance, represented by the formulaeI, III, IV, V, VI in which R is H or optional substituted alkyl, and A is formula II or the like (X is benzene, naphthalene, indole, carbazole, or benzofuran ring and optionally substituted compounds thierof; R1 is H or optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl), and Ar1 is a benzene, naphthalene, or heterocyclic ring and optionally substituted compound thierof; and as a charge transfer substance, a hydrazone compound represented by the formula VII in which Ar is a monovalent radical optionally substituted condensed polycyclic ring, styryl, or heterocyclic residue. |
