The title panels have >=1 core layers, front and back veneer layers which are coated with unfired ceramic materials, and perforations at the back for venting of steam and gases generated by exposure to high temp. The ceramic consists approx. of clay 10, feldspar 10, SiO210,Al(OH)3 20, talc 20, borate-high frit 10, and Na silicate 20 %. The back of a plywood panel with front and back veneers was coated 3 times with a slurry of the above ceramic to a total thickness of ˜3.5-4 mil and holes with diam. 1/6in. and 1 in. apart were punched into the back of the panel.
