The invention provides a mastic asphalt mixture for road, building and industrial construction which contains 0.1 to 2% by weight of synthetic silica. For example, a precipitated silica, a precipitated and spray-dried silica or a pyrogenically produced silica can be used as a synthetic silica. The content of synthetic silica results in a greater hardness of the finished mastic asphalt layer.
