PURPOSE:To smoothly slide a turret head, avoid the partial wear of its sliding surface and hieghten the productivity, by keeping rotative load from affecting the turret head in cutting. CONSTITUTION:An automatic turret lathe is numerically controlled in accordance with a program set for the form of workpieces, to machine them. In the radial cutting of the workpiece, main shafts 6, 7 are controlled by a main shaft rotation direction regulating mechanism so that the shafts rotate in opposite directions to each other. A pair of tools are simultaneously engaged with the rotating bar to machine it. At that time, cutting resistances which act to a turret head 40 through a turret head shaft 47 cancel each other. For that reason, the sliding surface of the turret head 40 is prevented from being partially worn and the productivity is improved. |
