<p>PURPOSE:To harden an end of peripheral face of a roll for pressure fixing device under the same condition with other parts by connecting plural rolls in axial direction using journals and holes provided at the end of rolls and sending continuously into a high frequency hardening device. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing a roll for pressure fixing device for fixing toner pictures, a journal 7 is formed at an end of the body 6 of the roll and a hole 8 is provided at another end. A journal 7 of another roll 5 is fitted to the hole 8, and the roll 5 is connected in axial direction contacting closely an end face 6a of the body 6 with another end face 6b. The connected body 10 is placed horizontally and pressed between a pair of rolls 9. The connected body 10 is moved forward by rotating the rolls and passed continuously through a work coil 3 and hardened. Then, the peripheral face is finished by centerless grinding wheels 11. By this method, thermal condition between the end faces 6a, 6b and other parts becomes equal and unevenness of hardness does not occur.</p> |
