PURPOSE:To make it possible to collect heat at the time when the sun shines intermittently and the ratio of insolation with respect to time is low and to increase the heat collecting efficiency of the solar heat collector by a method wherein a pump adopted to force a heat transfer medium to circulate between a heat collecting section and a heat exchange section of a heat accumulation tank is provided and a flow passage switching device capable of preventing the heat transfer medium from flowing through the heat exchange section is provided adjacent the inlet-outlet port of the heat exchange section. CONSTITUTION:In case where the amount of insolation varies with time due to the movements of clouds on a cloudy day, the heat transfer medium heated by the heat collecting section 2 while it circulates naturally through a passage (a-b) in stored in a storage section 13 so that even when the cycle of variation of the amount of insolation or the ratio of insolation with respect to time lowers, the heat transfer medium which is heated gradually every time when the sun shines comes to be stored in the storage section 13. Then, when the heated heat transfer medium fills the storage section 13 having a capacity larger than a total of the capacities of a return passage 14 and a pipe 3, a differential thermostat A (not shown) responds thereto the operate the pump 9 and the flow passage switching device 15 and the heated heat transfer medium in a quantity sufficient to fill up the return passage 14 and the pipe 3 is supplied from the storage section 13. |
