摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to compute the distance to an object material from the amount of shift when the sum becomes the minimum, by detecting the bit positions with respect to peak positions of right and left image signals, and computing the total sum of the deviations of the bit positions from the right and left picture element signals with one side being shifted. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted by the objective material passes through right and left optical systems 1a and 1b, and images are formed in right and left linear image sensors 9a and 9b. The sensors 9a and 9b detect the images as pulse trains, wherein the wave heights of the pulses are proportional to the brightness of the images, and output their right and left image signals. Therefore, detecting circuits 10a and 10b detect bit positions (L1-Ln) and (R1-Rn), at which the peaks of the image signals appear, and output the right and left picture element signals. A computer 11 makes the bit position R2 at the right correspond to the bit position L1 of the left picture element signal. Then the bit positions are sequentially made to correspond and the computation is performed. In this way, one side is shifted and the amount of the shift when the sum of the computation becomes the minimum is determined, and the distance to the objective material can be obtained.
