PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance in high yield, by reacting CO with H2 using a highly active substance containing an Ru compound, an Rh compound, an imidazole, and, a halogen compound as a cocatalyst under relatively low pressure. CONSTITUTION:In preparing the titled substance by reacting CO with H2 under heating and pressure conditions, the reaction is carried out using a catalyst containing an Ru compound (e.g., ruthenium chloride), an Rh compound [e.g., Rh4 (CO)12], an imidazole, and, a halogen compound as a cocatalyst at 150-300 deg.C at 1,000-50kg/cm<2>-G for 0.5-10hr. A ratio of the Ru compound used is 10<-4>- 10<-1> gram atom/l calculated as the concentration of Ru atom in the reaction system, a ratio of the Rh compound used is 0.1-5 calculated as a ratio of metal atom of Rh to Ru, and a ratio of the imidazole used is 10<-1>-10<5>mol based on 1g atom total of both the metal atoms of Ru and Rh. |
