PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device which is capable of detecting directly damage of a die pin, by fitting a reflection type optical fiber sensor directed to the die pin, into a device hole formed so as to be almost orthogonal to a slide guide hole in a slide guide member of the die pin provided on the rear face of a die. CONSTITUTION:In case of a normal operation, when a raw material (a) loaded in a formed hole 8 of a die 7 is pushed in by an advance of a punch 24, the center part of a die 10 is positioned right under a reflection type optical fiber sensor 32, and an expanded diameter part 17 is positioned right under the reflection type optical fiber sensor 17. Subsequently, detecting light emitted from each sensor 32, 37 is reflected by the surface of the die pin 10, is photodetected by each sensor 32, 37, and its photodetecting signal is converted to an electric signal by a control device 40, by which a normal operation is confirmed. Subsequently, in case when the die pin 10 is broken, a photodetecting quantity of reflected light of each sensor 32, 37 is reduced remarkably comparing with the time of a normal operation, it is detected by the device 40, and a signal for stopping suddenly a ram 1, a raw material feed device, etc. is generated. |
