PURPOSE:To form a heat resistant and abrasion resistant coating layer on the inside circumferential surface of a metallic cylinder wherein a slurry consists of pulverized powder of nonmetallic inorg. materials, and water is held at a specific temp. by heating the deposition layer deposited on the inside circumferential surface of said cylinder to a specific temp. or above to solidify, dipping in a conc. aq. soln. contg. a water soluble Cr compd., then heating the cylinder to a specific temp. or above. CONSTITUTION:A slurry consisting of >=1 kinds or above nonmetallic inorg. materials contg. >=5% clay and water is sprayed and deposited on the inside circumferential surface of a metallic cylinder kept at 80-250 deg.C. The cylinder is subjected to primary heating at >=350 deg.C to bind and solidify the deposition layer. Such cylinder is dipped in a conc. aq. soln. contg. a soluble Cr compd. alone or into the slurry prepd. by mixing pulverized powder of a nonmetallic inorg. material with the conc. aq. soln. The cylinder is pulled up from the soln. and is subjected to secondary heating at >=460 deg.C. If the cylinder is subjected repeatedly to such impregnation treatment and secondary heating, the construction having the texture of the dense ceramic layer of much higher strength is obtd. |
