Tri-mixed alkylsulfonium salts of N-phosphonomethylgylcine and their use as plant growth regulators and herbicides

Novel tri-mixed alkylsulfonium salts of N-phosphonomethylglycine are disclosed herein, having the formula <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, and R3 represent C1-C12 alkyl and n is zero or one, wherein no more than two of R1, R2, or R3 are identical. The compounds are useful in regulating the natural growth or development of plants and as herbicides.
