PURPOSE:To prevent the shape of a product from being subjected to bad influences caused by a springing of the front and tail ends of a strip during rolling, etc., by changing lead and lag rates in accordance with the changes of the kind, thickness, temperature, and position of the tail end, etc. of a strip to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:Detecting signals of a group of sensors 5a-5l for detecting the front and tail ends of a strip 4A are inputted to a circuit 6 to make it recognize the positions of the front and tail ends at every plate 4A. When the tail end of plate 4A passes one of circle-marked lag commencing points indicated by numerical values 1-10, a detecting circuit 15 generates one of numerical values 1-10 corresponding to the passing point basing on a tracking signal of a circuit 6. On the other hand, circuits 16a-16c for setting the lag commencing point are respectively set by said numerical values 1-10. These two values are compared with each other by coincidence detecting circuits 17a-17c, and a contact signal actuates to close the contact when two values coincide. Further, the lag rates set by circuits 18a-18c are selected in accordance with the on-off of contacts C-E, and the selected factor is multiplied by a signal outputted from a circuit 7 of the plate 4A by a multiplier 12 to calculate a speed correcting signal. Simultaneously with this calculation, the signal is subtracted from a speed reference to obtain a speed reference signal of the four sections of a hot line table 2. |
