PURPOSE:To enable forming of a terminal hook through a series of continuous processes by extruding a wire rod for spring to a winding tool, winding the spring part, forming a reduced wound part, winding a terminal hook part and bending it up. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod 3 for spring is forcibly extruded through a guide 2 and brought into contact with a starting end hook forming tool and a winding tool 6 and a spring part 16 provided with a starting end hook part 17. Then, the hool 6 is lowered, and the wire rod is brought into contact with a face 14 near the guide 2 of the forming face 13, and wound about half winding to form a reduced wound part. Then, winding is made more than one winding at a face 15 far from the guide 2 to complete winding of a terminal hook part 19. Thus, the hook part 19 becomes annular shape deviated from the part 16 by about a half of its diameter. Then, a holding recessed part of a supporting tool 7 is brought into contact with the reduced wound part, and the hook part 19 is held with the guide 2 moving a pressing tool upward. The took 9 is locked at the end of the part 16 and the hook part 19 is bent up so that the hook part makes nearly right angles to the part 16. |
