The construction element according to the invention comprises two elongate elements 1 facing each other, a succession of adjacent panels 2 forming a concertina-shaped core inserted between the elongate elements and strips 3 interposed between the two elongate elements, at the junction of two adjacent panels, these strips comprising assembly means interacting, by interlocking, with complementary members provided on the corresponding adjacent panels and, with these members, locking the various components forming the construction element. The elements 1, panels 2 and strips 3 are preferably made of timber. The invention is used to build the framework of buildings, particularly of houses. <IMAGE>
