AQUEOUS ADHESIVE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent water resistance and adhesion between polyester substrates or the polyester substrate and other substrate, consisting of a specified aq. polyester resin and an aq. polyurethane resin. CONSTITUTION:A carboxylic acid component consisting of at least 50mol% of an arom. carboxylic acid (e.g. terephthalic acid) contg. 3-15mol% of a dicarboxylic acid having an alkali metal sulfonate group or its arom. nucleus (e.g. sodium 5-sulfoisophthalate) and not more than 50mol% of other carboxylic acid (e.g. succinic acid) is reacted with a polyol component (e.g. ethylene glycol) to obtain a polyester resin, which is then dispersed in water at 40-100 deg.C to obtain an aq. polyester resin. The obtained resin is mixed with an aq. polyurethane resin in a weight ratio of 90:10-10:90 on a solid basis.
