PURPOSE:To enter luminous flux for illumination efficiently by providing an annular light guide which is provided with a light guide for transmitting illumination light at the circumferential edge part of a composite fiber, a light source near an end surface of the light guide, and a concave mirror which converges light from the light source to the end surface of the light guide. CONSTITUTION:An endoscope consists of an image pickup part A which is close to an object of observation and picks up its image, a long transmission part B, and an image reception part C on a hand side. The light source lamp 10 is placed near the image reception part C and the 1st concave mirror 11 and the 2nd concave mirror 12 are set behind and in front of the light source 10 respectively. The end surface 13 of the annular light guide 2, and the light source 10 and the 2nd concave mirror 11 are so arranged that the light from the light source 10 is reflected by the 1st concave mirror 11 and converged to the end surface 13 of the annular light guide, thus forming a real image of the light source 10 on the end surface 13. |
