PURPOSE:A metal complex is embedded in liposome together with a reduction assistant which has an oxidation-reduction potential more negative than the metal and is reversibly oxidative and reductive and reduction is effected at a potential more negative than the potential of the assistant whereby a metal complex used as an oxygen adsorbent is efficiently reduced. CONSTITUTION:In the reduction of a fat-soluble metal complex embedded in liposome or the hydrophobic zone in the lamella composed of mainly phospholipid by the action of outside reducing force, a fat-soluble reduction assistant, which has an redoxy potential more negative than the potential of the center metal of the complex and is reversibly oxidative and reductive, is previously embedded in the liposome or lamella, then a reducing force whose potential is more negative than that of the assistant is made to act outside to effect the reduction of the center metal of the complex which is in the oxidized state.
