In a sheet-metal part which is bent over into a box shape, in the form of a housing cover (1) or the like, whose side surfaces (4) in each case have a bent-over area (5) running parallel to the top (3) of the cover, the corners (6) are notched, and separately produced plastic cornerpieces (8) are inserted flush with the surfaces and in a positively-locking and/or force-fitting manner. The cornerpieces (8), whose edges and corners are chamfered for protection against injuries, are supported against the bottom of the cover and the bent-over areas (5), and additionally reinforce the corner regions of the housing cover (1). <IMAGE
