PURPOSE:To easily input and change words required by users so that Japanese documentation can be made by a simple method, by selecting a word in which ''Kanji'' (Chinese character) and ''Kana'' (Japanese syllabary) are mixed, from reading information of ''Kana character'', ''Romaji'', etc., and successively displaying words related to the word and having different meansings. CONSTITUTION:A ''Kana character'' string of ''Romaji'' string from an input/output device 1 is inputted into an input/output controlling device 2 and then into a display device 3, by which the inputted character string is displayed. Moreover, the Japanese word inputted by means of the ''Kana character'' or ''Romaji'' string is divided into units having meansings of words or clauses by the designation of an operator and the divided ones are given to a ''Kana''-''Kanji'' converting section 4. At the converting section 4, a converting dictionary 5 is referred to and the ''Kana'' or ''Romaji'' is converted into ''Kanji'' and a character string, in which ''Kana'' and ''Kanji'' are mixed, is produced. This ''Kana'' and ''Kanji'' mixed Japanese words are given to the display device 3 and, at the same time, stored in a memory 6. Moreover, designation for selecting related words from the device 1 is inputted into the device 2 and the input is processed at a related word calling section 7 and related word dictionary 8. Thus the documentation is implemented by a simple method.
