PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having a superior temperature characteristic by using as the solute of nonaqueous electrolyte the lithium salt of a nonsubstituted or substituted lower aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:The solute of nonaqueous electrolyte consists of either one of the lithium salts of nonsubstituted and substituted lower aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids or one of their mixtures. For the lithium salt of a nonsubstituted lower aliphatic carboxylic acid, lithium carboxylates containing 2-5 carbon atoms such as lithium acetate and lithium oxalate are used. For the lithium salt of a substituted lower aliphatic carboxylic acid, the lithium salts of halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acids containing 2-5 carbon atoms such as lithium trifluoroacetate are used. For the lithium salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid, lithium carbon benzoate and the like are used. |
