<p>Package contg. synthetic reference fluid for the quality control and/or calibration of blood gas meters has the liquid sealed in a flexible, gas-tight container in which no gas phase is present. It has a known pH, known CO2 partial pressure, (P(CO2), and known O2 partial pressure, P(O2) at a fixed temp., the total gas pressure in the liquid being 600 pref. 550 torr at 37 degrees C. The liq. pref. is an aq. soln. contg. a HCO3-/CO2 buffer system and an additional pH buffer system. The container is esp. a bag. of metal-plastics laminate. Small packages with samples of known compsn. and great reliability can be supplied.</p> |
