PURPOSE:To connect plate lug groups of a storage battery with a simple equipment and good working efficiency by closely putting a metal strap along the lug groups, arranged in a line, of the cell plate groups, while connecting both together by resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:A metal strap 4 is placed on a negative lug group 2a of the negative plates 2 of a cell plate group 1, while closely putting its horizontal wall part 4a and vertical wall part 4b on the side faces of the lug groups 2a. In said state, the strap 4 is connected with the lug groups 2a by using a resistance welding equipment. Said operation is also applied to the positive lug groups 3a of the positive plates 3. Further, the nutually heteropolar lug groups arranged through a partition wall of the cell plate groups housed inside a battery jar are connected together in common by resistance welding, while using the common metal strap inserted through the through hole on the upper edge of the partition wall. |
