In a folding cover for the superstructures of road vehicles, in particular for dumper bodies of lorries or lorry trailers or semi-trailers whose tarpaulin which is supporting at a plurality of points is guided on both sides with a plurality of supports on a track consisting of at least two running rails, arranged in each case on opposite sides of the superstructure, with the aid of support bearings which engage around the running rails and can be rested one against the other on each side of the superstructure in order to form folds in the tarpaulin at varying distances, preferably at the end side, there is provision according to the invention for engagement strips which are assigned to each support bearing of profile sides of the running rails lying opposite one another to be attached, which engagement strips relieve the loads of the supports on the running rail and form the positive guidance of the support bearing on the running rail and for the end faces of the engagement strips to serve as dirt stripping elements in both running directions of the support bearings.
