PURPOSE:The titled composition excellent in moisture resistance, rust prevention and adhesiveness, comprising an epoxy resin, a curing agent, and a specified additive. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. (A) epoxy resin of glycidyl ether type, phenol novolak type, or cresol novolak type is mixed with (B) a curing agent (e.g., phenolic resin) in an amount to provide an eqivalent ratio of the number of the functional groups in the curing agent to that of the epoxy groups in component A of 0.5- 1.5 and 0.1-10pts.wt. (C) metal dithiocarbamate, as an additive, represented by the formula (wherein R and R' are each a 1-18C alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, or R and R' may form a ring, M is a metallic element such as Zn, Mo, Fe, Ni, Cu, Pb, or Te, and m and n are each an integer). EFFECT:When an electrical part is sealed with the composition, the additive form a rust-preventive film at the interface between the electrical part and the epoxy resin, and this film prevents penetration of external moisture, etc., and prevents the part from losing insulatability and increasing leakage current, etc.
