PURPOSE:To attain efficient deflection by performing digitally vertical deflection and horizontal deflection to a fiber optical tube (FOT) and storing in advance a data to a lookup table. CONSTITUTION:Picture information PI decomposed into RGB is stored in a buffer memory 32 via a multiplexer 30 and an AD converter 31. A color control signal CD, a blank signal BLC and a picture element clock PCK to output a picture signal of the RGB stored in the memory are outputted from a timing generating circuit 33, and the picture element clock PCK outputs a picture element address PA to access lookup tables 40, 41 storing respectively the vertical deflection signal and the horizontal deflection signal and the memory 32 at an address generating circuit 34. The RGB position signal (vertical deflection signal) VD and the horizontal deflection signal HI accessed from the tables 40, 41 are impressed to a deflecting plate 21A of an FOT21 via amplifiers 45, 47 respectively.
