PURPOSE:To make the purifier compact while keeping the balance with respect to life among respective treating elements by selectively using said treating elements in accordance with the requirement in the purifier wherein plural treatments are carried out. CONSTITUTION:In a water purifier 1 which is connected to a tap 12 and provided with treating elements for treating the water to be treated from said tap, etc., the treating elements are divided into a cartridge 7 contg. activated carbon 15 for removing residual chlorine in the water to be treated, a filter 16, etc. for removing the turbidity, and a cartridge 9 packed with a mineral eluting material 24. A valve 2 is also provided for selectively sending water into each treating element. Consequently, the capacity of the treating element with low frequency in use can be reduced, and a multifunctional and multipurpose compact water purifier by which sufficient treating performance can be expected can be obtained.
