PURPOSE:To prevent both abnormal constraction of and/or cracks on an electrode and cracks on an electrolytic plate so as to make the captioned battery to exhibit its stabilized performance for a long period, by having electrode catalyst permeated by ceramics material so that the thermal expansion coefficient of the electrode may be set equal or approximated to that of the electrolytic plate. CONSTITUTION:Unit battery layers are laminated by providing electrodes respectively on both sides of electrolytic plate and also provided separators to the outsides of these electrodes. Electrodes of such fused salt type fuel battery are formed by ceramics material and eletrode catalyst and thermal expansion coefficient of electrodes is set equal or approximated to th thermal expansion coefficient of electrolytic plate. For example, nickel powder of 80wt%, lithiumaluminate powder of 20wt% are kneaded to paste with calboxymethylcellulose liquid. It is then fed into molds and is dried up at 80 deg.C and then sintered at 800 deg.C in the hydrogen ambient to form and electrode plate. A matrix type lithiumaluminate base material is used for the electrolytic plate and the obtained electrode plate is used as the anode and cathode in order to form a unit battery. |
